The MELT Level 1 Training certification is the first step in the MELT University training path where you’ll learn how to teach the foundational techniques and self-care treatments from the New York Times best-selling book, The MELT Method. Get everything you need to start teaching group classes and one-on-one sessions the next day!

What You'll Learn

In this 6-day live training, you’ll learn how to relieve chronic aches and pains, prevent injuries, and create effortless stability and movement using the Hand and Foot Treatment balls, Soft Roller, and Soft Half Roller.

Learn how to help your clients minimize joint pain and repetitive stress injuries, recover after an injury or surgery, or manage side effects from a variety of disorders and diseases, as well as how to modify techniques from the MELT Method book to help clients with special needs. Adding this simple self-care practice to any type of sports training, physical therapy, or healing practice further helps clients prepare and restore their body resilience at any age.

Upon Completion

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the MELT methodology and the 4R’s protocol
  • Teach MELT Restore classes, workshops, and one-on-one sessions
  • Discuss the benefits of neurofascial training with an emphasis on balance, coordination, reactivity, stability, agility, and whole-body efficiency
  • Demonstrate an ability to teach and modify all MELT Level 1 techniques
  • Teach to different learning styles and skill levels

Should you transfer your registration prior to the online pre-training start date, you will incur a transfer fee of $100. Should you transfer your registration after the online pre-training has started, you will incur a transfer fee of $250. In the case of multiple transfers, these fees apply for each transfer. Note: You may be required to re-submit any pre-training assignments. All transfer requests must be submitted via email to instructorinfo@meltmethod.com

Yes, Sue Hitzmann leads the Level 1 training with the assistance of the MELT Master Trainers. A team of experienced teaching assistants will also assist you and answer your questions and give you opportunities to practice teaching in breakout groups.

MELT Master Trainer Meegan Descheneaux will co-lead in Orlando, and Kerrie Bodendorf in Berkeley.

All MELT trainings include a blend between live and online training. The Level 1 training is not offered in an exclusively online format at this time.

Several trainings are scheduled and more are being scheduled all the time. Make sure you’re on the mailing list to hear about new trainings as they’re added.

Yes, MELT provides CEUs for AFAA, ACE, NASM, NCBTMB, and PMA. Other organizations may accept them on petition.

Should you cancel your registration prior to the online pre-training start date, your payment will be refunded minus a fee of $100*. Should you cancel your registration after the online pre-training has started, your payment will be refunded minus a fee of $250*. (Refunds require the return of instructor manual, where applicable.) Cancellations within two weeks of the training are non-refundable. All cancellation requests must be submitted via email to instructorinfo@meltmethod.com.

*After 90 days past the initial point of payment, credit card refunds cannot be processed. Refunds are available as store credit only.

Yes, all trainees are required to be present for the entire live training. All flights and travel arrangements should be made to ensure you are present for the daily training times. If for any reason you are unable to be present for the entire training, you will be required to complete additional assignments for an additional fee. If you miss an entire training day, you may be required to retake that day in another training in order to receive your certificate of completion.
