MELT in Montreal

MELT OC EventIt's official, MELT is spreading like wildfire and we are now in Canada. Not only did we have a MELT Intro class at the JCC in Montreal (YMHA) this past week, there are now on-going MELT classes at the Little Yoga Room every Monday at 11:30am and 6:00pm. Kara Thorsen, the owner of the facility is a seasoned Iyengar Yoga Instructor who has teamed up with one of our new-bee instructors Melanie Nadeau. Linda Samburg is amped up to also begin some series events and other intro classes at the YMHA this spring, and Heather Dennis is putting new classes in Nova Scotia!!

On our home front, our west coast crew is steadily implementing MELT Intro classes and series events for February and March! What a great way to wake up on Valentine's Day feeling the L-O-V-E for MELT all over the place. It really fills me up and gets me ready for my day!

Tomorrow I head down to Richmond, Virginia to train a rather large crew in The New Science of the Human Body to set our newest JCC Ambassador Club to the test! MELT will be heading down to Orlando, Florida. come April and March, I return to California for my first appearance in San Diego, then up to LA for the MELT Instructor Training! What a year this is turning into!

I will keep you posted on some fantastic future events, one in NYC at the ECA - MELT for Sue in OCthe Injured Athlete. It's a big one. There are more athletes and fitness professionals dealing with chronic pain issue today than at any other time in history! Time to get the industry MELTed and get them all out of pain!

Come visit one of our MELT Instructors soon and learn why the MELT Method can help you alleviate the common symptoms that slowly turn into chronic pain - a not-so-subtle symptoms caused by neurofascial inefficiency - one thing MELT can improve!

Keep your eye open for new programming coming every day!

Left Coasters Get MELTed!

I've just returned from a fantastic two weeks out west both training new MELT InstructorsMelt San Francisco and doing intro classes from San Francisco (pic right) to Orange County (pic left)! It was a great experience and I am excited to see our "Left-Coaster" MELT crew brew!!!

I think those are sold out but there are some special MELT Intro Classes at the Richmond VA that anyone can attend and experience how easy it can be to eliminate chronic pain!

We are making great headway with our soon-to-be best seller book with Harper One and I even had the pleasure of not only meeting my new publishers and editors but having them attend the MELT Sessions at the JCC in San Francisco!

So west coast peeps - GET READY TO MELT! The instructors I trained are ready to go and many will be hosting events in March and April so MELT is on the way and we are spreading it all over the west coast!

Experiencing the Gift

This past weekend, I got to do what it is I enjoy most... I got to teach and talk to a group of individuals ready to step out of the box. The "New Science of the Human Body" workshop is now my favorite two-day experience. Before me sat 30 individuals who are educators, teachers, students, and entrepreneures of "learning the body better". We spent 14 hours together looking deeper into the body than most models go. We defined by viewing microscopically this dynamic supporting, communicating system in the  body that I call the "neurofascial system". This is the science that combines neuro-science and connective tissue research and shows why we all need to learn more about these two components of our body if we are going to maintain an active, healthy, pain-free lifestyle... not only better... but longer.

It is the profound work of Gil Hedley, Robert Schleip, J.C. Guimberteau, Elaine DeBeauport, along with my own empiracle study and passion that I am able to talk about this system as an expert of neurofascial application and research. This October I had the pleasure of speaking to 30 not only brilliant but diverse individuals spanning the fields of personal trainer, manager, and consultant to acupuncture, massage therapist, and chiropractor to expand their knowledge on how to help a body achieve greater efficiency and longevity.

Each person in the room stayed so present and in the moment, day one flowed without a hitch. A new model presented, and the embodiment begins! Day two began with profound quetions,(and long-winded answers on my side) to build on the ideas and impress upon them the importance of knowing more about the connective tissue and what I define as the "autopilot" providing every human body support, protection, and whole-body communication and is functioning out of our conscious control. We learned how to tap into this sytem without "over loading" the network that links our parasympathetic nervous system to our connective tissue.

To me, a weekend like this is a gift. The students, a treasure, the learning... priceless. As the months progress and the work sinks into the bodies of the participants, I can only wonder what the results will be. More on the evolution of the learning soon!
