Can MELT Help You Lose Weight?
February 21, 2011
I recently read a study from the Mayo Clinic that found thigh and abdominal fat developed differently. When you gain weight, abdominal fat cells get larger, while the fat in your thighs multiply. That got me to thinking about how to explain why MELT is such a helpful tool in the weight loss process.
I know for sure the larger abdominal fat cells increase the risk of diabetes and heart disease however the cells in your thighs actually help stabilize blood sugar levels. So the fat in your abdomen is actually dangerous to your health whereas the stuff in your thighs could potentially protect us. Although it might not look great, the abdominal fat is really bad for long-term health.
There was also a good article published on line in the National Academy of Sciences (Oct 2010) that showed our genetics play a significant role in where we store fat – (which means I can blame my parents for fat issues). Seriously though, this is an important thing to remember. Getting rid of the fat on the belly is more important than getting it off your thighs.
However, for fat elimination, remember, slow gradual fat loss is the smart way to go. MELTing helps to assimilate the fat loss by keeping the superficial layers of connective tissue (where unneeded fat tends to store itself) hydrated and mobile. If connective tisue becomes dehydrated, the fat cells tend to bundle and compile into "clumps". I've seen it in many dissections with Gil Hedley. Some regions of fat are smooth and silky but in other regions it looks like large curd cottage cheese (only really a beautiful yellowish-orange tone). When the connective tissue is hydrated in the superficial layers the body can reabsorb the good aspects of fat, use it for energy and eliminate the toxins that are stored in your cells in an efficient way instead of dumping it into the bloodstream causing inflammation that could increase your risk of heart disease. And, like most people who try to lose weight, joint ache is common - that's caused by the inflammation in the connective tissue~
There are many reasons why MELT helps with weight loss. This is just one.
In upcoming blogs and downloads, I will explain how MELT will help keep you healthy and pain-free while you lose weight. More to come.
