The Mystery of Our Development
December 14, 2011
I
n the MELT New Science Training, I talk about how complex the human for is. Although I think I do a pretty good job of simplifying some profound models, it goes without saying, to answer how things work in their entirety is truly the divine mystery of our existence.
How a single cell turns into two, then, four, and continues to split, all cells starting out as connective tissue cells only to become specialized and with an electrical, vibrational, and chemical blending, we become a fetus.
Alexander Tsiaras shares a very provocative, beautiful medical visualization of what the body does from conception to birth. There are other wonderful videos out there but I think this is quite compelling.
The idea that within us, there is 60,000 miles of vessels (capillaries, nerves, arteries and nerves developed within the first 9 months of our existence), most of which are deep and go unseen as well as an entire fluid matrix comprised of the dynamic collagen molecule is nearly incomprehensible. From Alexander's mathematical perspective it's hard to even define it with all of the technology they have.
The fluid and vascular systems bring nutrient to all cells, carry waste away and cleanse and heal us from toxins and bacteria everyday.
For all of the time we spend trying to make our external body appear strong, beautiful, and young, we should spend double or triple that keeping our insides in the same state. Yet we don't. We are not taught how to self care but we come up with ideas of what we think will help keep us healthy.
I encourage you to watch this video and as always what is aspiring in the fascial community. Our body is amazing. We should treat it like a precious gift and learn to care for it better.
Keep yourself juicy as you step into 2012... more to come!
